Salutations, Henchmen!
First off, I’d like to offer my apologies for leaving you all hanging (literally) without a woman to worship last week. While havoc and chaos always reign supreme in my evil kingdom, it reached new heights last week as a snowstorm ploughed through, followed by a swift melting of all the snow, which ultimately led to a total flooding of the basement. Luckily, only the dungeons were affected. Now that the dust (or should I say water?) has settled, I’m realizing that this flooding fiasco may have been a blessing in disguise. As it turns out, filling the dungeons with water is a quick and effective way to dispose of all the current prisoners in one fell swoop! While I normally prefer the sounds of tortured cries and warm ambiance that comes with burning the prisoners alive, I have to say that I saved a lot of time and trees this time around by not having to set up a pyre. Plus, the dungeons have become even more dingy and mouldy since the flood, making them even more unpleasant for the next round of prisoners! So that’s also a big bonus. Perhaps I should start using drowning as an execution method more frequently from now on. I do enjoy the heightened drama that slowly rising water levels can provide…mwahaha.
IN OTHER NEWS, it’s WrestleMania week, BAY BAAAYYY! Since I’ve been eating, sleeping and breathing all things pro-wrestling this week (stay tuned for my ‘Mania Primer this weekend, btw!), I think it’s only fitting to give you all a wrestling-related Woman Crush today. It’s been waaay too long since my last one. I remember (fondly) when these Women Crushes were almost exclusively badass pro-wrestlers. While I’ve done many in the past, I think I’ve been subconsciously saving this one because she is one of the all-time GREATS. In fact, I’m fairly confident that she will ultimately go down as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, period. Despite this, she actually isn’t on the WrestleMania card this year for a couple of reasons but hey, true superstars don’t need to be validated by headlining every show, you know? She is already pro-wrestling royalty…literally. You’re Woman Crush this week is none other than the QUEEN herself, Charlotte Flair! WOOO!
Yes, that’s Flair, as in daughter of the legendary Ric Flair. Now, before you go dismissing her rise to the top as a by product of her father’s status in the business, allow me to assure you that while she may have the pedigree, she got to where she is now thanks to her own hard work and talent. She has forged her own path in the WWE on her own merit. She is the most decorated woman in the WWE with 13(!!) titles to her name, amongst other high-profile accomplishments, like winning the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble. I can tell you that she is one of the most athletic superstars on the roster or I can simply just show you. Here is a highlight video of some of her best moves, in which she pulls off daunting, difficult moves while somehow making it all seem effortless:
I mean, she’s basically willing to jump off of anything onto anything. The woman is seemingly fearless. The best part? All of that charisma and confidence isn’t just limited to the ring (even though that alone would make her a suitable candidate for a Woman Crush). As such, she serves as one of the WWE’s best brand ambassadors, appearing at events all over the world and lending her talents to various media projects. You’ll even be able to catch her in her first lead role in the upcoming remake of “Walking Tall”. Speaking of tall, this Queen is billed at 5’10. So yeah, she’s just checking off all the Woman Crush boxes left and right. Now that I’m done gushing about her talent, confidence, height and overall badassery, I’ll get to the box I know you all care about most: the social media game. Just like everything else, the Queen certainly does not disappoint on that front, either.
Be sure to follow her on Instagram (@CharlotteWWE) & Twitter (@mscharlotteWWE) for more. As someone who has been following her for a few years, it is well worth it. She treats us to fire photoshoots like these more than we deserve. I’ll leave you to explore the rest of her profiles as tonight kicks off NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver*, so I have another night full of wrestling ahead of me and I must acquire adequate snacks.
*Speaking of, shoutout to Io Shirai, who I will definitely have to highlight in this newsletter in the future.
Until next time, Henchmen! Stay evil and WATCH SOME PRO-WRESTLING THIS WEEK, EH!
I always enjoy reading these, my Overlord.
